FINALLY got out to the barn today!
feels like it’s been ages. I gave crunchy a good brush down, lunged him a bit and gave him lots of treats. (:

While I’m out running and getting for playing lacrosse, poor crunchy is getting so so fat. Lookit that hay belly. -______- ughhh. Well I took him out in the field today, and I turned him loose and we galloped across and down the trail, him bucking here and there, an leaping over the mud (because he doesn’t like to get his feet dirty). Then he got scared and slammed on the breaks to a dead stop. To our right something rustled in the woods and he jumped and looked, and it rustled again an he spun and took off like a fucking Bianchi back to the barn, fucking soaring over the mud puddles. I just barely got him stopped halfway back and he was snorting and dancing and so jumpy. So I talked to him an made him stand, then I let him canter the rest of the way to the barn. A very bumpy and exciting ride today.
Anonymous asked: He's an ass to you? Lunge that boy. not cruelly, but he'll learn it's a hell of a lot easier to be nice to you than it is to be mean. I would have lunged my horse until he was well worked (again, just a workout not cruel blah)
after he turned and kicked out at my I chased him around with the whip (free lunging) for a little bit, but I didnt have time to do a full workout with him, I just wanted to groom him and let him out for a few mins -____- believe me, he was not rewarded for this behavior.

Finally got out to the barn today, I have been very busy with lacrosse and it has been raining. Went to visit him for a few mins today and he was a total dick, he was spinning and kicking at me, wouldn’t let me pick his feet, running away when I was trying to catch him, and when I finally got a rope around he neck he tried to drag me across the arena. I was NOT impressed. Good to know he loves me.
crunchy got his feet trimmed today! we went for a short ride outside and played around inside, it hurts my knee to post when Im trotting so we didn’t really do too much. When we were walking outside we were crossing a little dirt bridge over a culvert to get to another field, and one side of the culvert had sunk in and there was a big hole. every time we walk through there I always point out the hole to everyone and make sure no one steps in it, and guess what happened. today we were walking by it, and crunchy spooked at something and steps right in the hole, luckily he’s not a panicky horse, he just stepped right out of it but oh my god I nearly had a heart attack, I was sure he was going to break his leg. by far the scariest riding moment today.

A very sleepy and sedated crunch, he got all his spring shots done today, he got his teeth floated, and his sheath cleaned! I had the vet do his sheath because it has seemed irritated and swollen which isn’t normal, and sure enough he has some weird irritation on his urethra, I guess it’s nothing too concerning, the vet just said to watch it and keep it clean. He is also getting his feet done this weekend. There goes $350 -____-

Finally got to the barn today! I rode bareback at just a walk, only hurt a little bit. We went for a nice walk outside and in the fields, then I took him over to the big field and let him graze for a while. He has already lost a ton of muscle tone and he looked so bad when I got there today. But I cleaned him up an he seemed happier. The vet, dentist, and farrier will all be out this week, so he’ll be feeling good soon, and I’ll be broke lol.
since I havent been out to ride due to my knee injury, here is a shot from show season last summer! Western Halter/showmanship (:
